The final curtain

Lord, I can’t do this anymore

Can’t do it on my own

I don’t have the grace or strength

To make my house a home

Broken years and unshed tears

Have withered in my soul

I need Your help to carry on

Need You to make us whole

You say all things are possible

I’ve seen it time again

Yet this mountain seems unreachable

Too daunting to begin

Too many years of broken dreams

Battered by the storms

Resentment, hatred, loneliness

Have all become the norm

The air around me suffocates

Oppression closes in

Only You can break the stronghold

Only You can make Love win

Revive my heart, my Lord,

Make these dry bones come alive

Replace my cold and stony heart

With one that is alive

Let the old and withered love

Die unto itself

Replace it with a new love

that comes only from above

And fill my heart anew

with Your never ending love

As the caterpillar enters its cocoon

To die to its former ugly self

And emerges a new creation

More beautiful to behold.

Help me to seek

The things that bring You Glory

And make our love grow deep

Deeper than the deepest chasm

Wider than the seas

And with that love release me

For all eternity
